Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Kilgore, TX is hiring a full-time Urgent Care Medical Assistant to support physicians with both clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced setting. You will room patients, take vitals, record histories, prepare for exams, draw blood, and administer medications as directed.

You will also manage medical records, appointments, billing and coding information, and use EMR and Microsoft Office; BLS is required within 14 days of hire; CMA or RMA certification

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.
  • Current CMA or RMA certification.
  • Basic EMR knowledge and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.
  • Administrative duties include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes.
  • Clinical duties include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.

  • Associate’s degree.
