Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the ambulatory care team at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Offices in Milwaukee. You will welcome patients, record vitals, prep for exams, and assist providers during procedures, contributing to coordinated care.

The role requires a High School Diploma or MA program completion, with phlebotomy preferred. Mon-Fri availability 7am–6pm; some travel within the Greater Milwaukee Area may be required.

• Completion of an accredited or approved Medical Assistant program, or 2 years of verifiable full-time MA experience within the last 5 years.
• Phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

What Will You Do:

Positions are generally scheduled Monday- Friday, between 7am – 6pm. Full and Part time positions available. Some positions require travel within the Greater Milwaukee Area.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other team member, when available.
• Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case- by -case basis.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.
• Will be exposed to the following hazards on a frequent basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood and body fluids. Will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
