Job summary

UP Health System – Marquette is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) for Sleep Medicine in Marquette, MI. This full-time position (days) supports patient care in a busy sleep medicine clinic with responsibilities spanning direct clinical tasks and clerical duties.

Responsibilities include providing individualized patient care, performing basic diagnostic procedures, documenting patient information, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

• Maintains equipment and medical supplies; orders, stocks, cleans and troubleshoots; maintains examination areas.

How you'll contribute

A Clinic MA who excels in this role:

• Provides direct and individualized care to clinic patients.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties an assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a High School diploma and be a Registered Medical Student or Certified Medical Assistant. Additional requirements include:

• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• One-year related experience, preferred. One year clinic experience, preferred.
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
