Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role you will work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.

You will welcome patients, collect histories and vitals, assist with exams, administer medications, and educate patients and families to improve health outcomes across our care teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with completion of an approved MA program or equivalent.
• EMT or Paramedic training acceptable with relevant clinical experience.
• Credentialing in Medical Assisting preferred (MA certification).

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant to support our providers in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you'll work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, support care coordination, and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.

What You'll Do:

• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.

General Requirements:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved:

• MA program and MA Externship;
• MA Internship;
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program;
• Paramedic program; or
• Certified Athletic Trainer.

If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE:

MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired, or EMT with current/active license in the State of Michigan, or Paramedic following successful completion of the National Registry Paramedic Exam and/or holds a current/active license in the State of Michigan. Valid CPR certification.

MA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

0-1 year previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years’ clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.
