Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering high-quality patient care. You will welcome patients, document histories and vital signs, assist with exams and procedures, and help coordinate care to ensure a positive experience.

The role involves administering medications, conducting tests as directed, and communicating results and instructions to patients. A strong emphasis on education and teamwork supports patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; completion of MA program and externship, MA internship, EMT, paramedic, or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligibility for Medical Assistant Certification or EMT with active license in Michigan; Paramedic with National Registry/MI license.
• MA-Credentialed I: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC certifications.

Responsibilities

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant to support our providers in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you'll work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, support care coordination, and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.

What You'll Do

General Requirements

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved:

• MA program and MA Externship;
• MA Internship;
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program;
• Paramedic program; or
• Certified Athletic Trainer.

If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE:

MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired, or EMT with current/active license in the State of Michigan, or Paramedic following successful completion of the National Registry Paramedic Exam and/or holds a current/active license in the State of Michigan. Valid CPR certification.

MA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 0-1 year previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years’ clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.
