Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Michigan is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering patient care. The role involves direct patient interaction, assisting with exams, testing, and specimen collection, and helping coordinate care for a positive healthcare experience.

The position is part-time with day shifts. 0–1 year of clinical experience is preferred; credentialing in MA or EMT/paramedic paths is beneficial.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Successful completion of an MA program and externship, or internship, or EMT/paramedic program, or athletic trainer certification.
• If credentialed, maintains MA re-certification CEUs.

Medical Assistant (MA)

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant to support our providers in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you'll work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, support care coordination, and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.

What You'll Do

General Requirements

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved:

• MA program and MA Externship;
• MA Internship;
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program;
• Paramedic program; or
• Certified Athletic Trainer.

If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE

MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired, or EMT with current/active license in the State of Michigan, or Paramedic following successful completion of the National Registry Paramedic Exam and/or holds a current/active license in the State of Michigan. Valid CPR certification.

MA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 0-1 year previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years’ clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.
