Job summary

Advocate Health Care, in collaboration with Advocate Medical Group (AMG), is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks vital to patient care. The position values professionalism, confidentiality, and compassionate patient interactions in a busy ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities include vital signs, patient prep, assisting providers, administering vaccines, handling labs, and accurate EHR documentation. OB/GYN experience and bilingual skills are highly preferred.

We’re Looking For

What You’ll Do

Schedule: Hours are M-F with shift times between 715a-7pm. One later date required once per week. No weekends and no holidays currently required, may be a possibility in the future. Prefer OB/GYN experience.

As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

Our experienced OB/GYN team assists with women’s health care needs. From adolescence through menopause, we offer preventive care for women at every stage of life. We offer routine gynecologic care, such as Pap smears and breast health exams, plus maternal and prenatal care. Our site also assists with needs related to birth control, contraceptives and family planning. Our team helps treat a range of women’s health conditions such as menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, cysts and fibroids, and breast cancer. Using the latest technology and taking a compassionate approach, our gynecologists, obstetricians, and clinical care team are committed to delivering the high‑quality, personalized care our patients deserve.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
  • Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
  • Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
  • Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de‑scalation, if needed.
  • May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
  • Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
  • Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
