Advocate Condell Medical Center - Immediate Care Clinic in Vernon Hills is hiring a Medical Assistant on a part-time basis. You will support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks vital to patient care.

This role requires a Medical Assistant diploma or 2 years MA experience (or MA certification with 2 years), a high school diploma or GED, and optional phlebotomy skills. You will take vital signs, assist with exams, administer vaccines, and document in the EHR.

As aMedical Assistant,you’llplay a vital roleinthe care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams andassistproviders during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twistfrequentlythroughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
• Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch withabilityto use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
• Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
• Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
• May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must bewornas necessary.
• Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
• Physical Abilities Testing may berequired.
• Additionaldepartment specific physical requirements may beidentifiedfor unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
