Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a Medical Assistant for a geriatric primary care clinic. This part-time, day-shift role supports patient visits through room setup, vitals, EKGs, blood draws, injections, and in-office tests in a collaborative clinic setting.

Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED and completion of an MA program with externship; CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NHA/CMAC certification is preferred. Prior clinical experience is valued.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completed MA program with externship/internship, EMT, or paramedic program.
  • Certification as Medical Assistant preferred (CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NHA/CMAC).
  • Minimum 2+ years clinical experience in absence of MA program/externship/internship.

Responsibilities

  • Room setup and patient preparation.
  • Take vitals (manual and electronic).
  • Perform EKG and draw blood; give injections and immunizations.
  • Perform Point of Care testing and basic office tests.

Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift Description: Medical Assistant - Geriatric Primary Care Clinic

Medical Assistants work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals in a clinic or practice environment. MAs are expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. Be the person that makes the difference every day in our patients' lives.

What you will do:
  • Room set up and patient preparation
  • Taking vitals (Manual & Electronic)
  • Perform EKG
  • Drawing blood and giving injections and immunizations.
  • Performing office tests (Point of Care Testing)
  • Pharmacology
  • Administrative duties
  • May perform or assisting with in-office procedures / treatments
What you will need:
  • Education- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.
  • Credentials/Licensure (Preferred): Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) American Medical Technologists (RMA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) National Healthcareer Association (CCMA) National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA) American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
  • Related Experience- Minimum: In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.
  • Preferred: New graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience caring for older adults or in a geriatric setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and compassion for aging populations
  • Ability to work with patients who may have cognitive, sensory, or mobility impairments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
