Job description

Zarminali Pediatrics is building the nation's leading pediatric multispecialty group, focused on supporting families to shape healthy futures for their children – from birth through adulthood – by completely transforming the way pediatric care is delivered nationwide. We are tackling today's challenges of increased administrative burden on clinicians and a siloed approach to pediatric care through intentional design of care delivery, enhanced by leading technology and collaborative, expert care teams.

Our name, inspired by our founder's daughter's name – Zarmina – means “something that is more precious to you than gold”. We couldn’t think of anything that better represents the way parents and caregivers hold the relationship with their children as the most valuable gift, and how we at Zarminali approach care for each child with equal reverence.

We strive for a healthier future for pediatric patients and a happier future for pediatric clinicians nationwide, and we are looking for people to join us in achieving this vision. If you are eager to join a growth stage company and be part of the early team that is shaping the foundation of both the company and the delivery of pediatric care, then this opportunity might be for you!

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Medical Assistant (Float) supporting our Chicago market across Arlington Heights, Park Ridge and Naperville, you will play a key role in delivering a consistent, high-quality patient experience across multiple clinic locations. This position supports both clinical and operational workflows, ensuring seamless patient care while adapting to varying teams, providers, and clinic environments.

In addition to core Medical Assistant responsibilities, you will provide critical coverage for staffing gaps, fluctuating patient volumes, and operational needs—requiring strong flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to quickly integrate into different clinic workflows

  • Maintain efficient patient flow across exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Prepare patient encounters by ensuring all clinical information is accurate and up to date
  • Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., strep, COVID, flu, RSV), specimen collection, and diagnostic procedures
  • Administer vaccines safely and accurately, monitoring for adverse reactions
  • Assist providers with procedures and clinical setup as needed
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms in accordance with infection control standards
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-ups, referrals, and prior authorizations
  • Support patient recall efforts tied to quality measures
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Travel between clinic locations, adapting to different workflows, teams, and provider preferences
  • Provide coverage for staffing gaps and high-volume periods across the market
  • Serve as a positive representative of the organization, modeling best practices and supporting onboarding of new team members
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
  • Strong adaptability and ability to quickly integrate into new clinic environments
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support where needed
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient-first approach
  • Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependability, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Compassionate, professional demeanor across diverse patient populations
WHAT YOU NEED:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
  • BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
  • 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting
  • Experience in primary care, urgent care, family practice, internal medicine, or ER preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, EMR systems)
  • Ability to travel frequently between clinic locations within the assigned market
WHAT WE OFFER:
  • Opportunity to work across multiple clinic environments and build diverse clinical experience
  • A collaborative, team-driven culture focused on delivering exceptional patient care
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • Exposure to a high-growth, multi-site healthcare environment
  • The ability to make a direct impact on patient experience and clinic operations
