Hartford HealthCare Medical Group seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support in patient care within the MA scope of practice. The role includes training across all MA duties and daily collaboration with physicians and care teams.

Responsibilities include vitals, medication and allergy reconciliation, point-of-care testing and front-office tasks. The position offers a supportive environment with career development via an MA ladder and comprehensive benefits.

Competenze

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification OR related experience.
• BLS Provider credentialed from the AHA within 3 months of hire date.
• All required credentials maintained throughout employment.

Mansioni

• Take vitals, reconcile medications and allergies, perform screenings and patient history; manage virtual health.
• Conduct point-of-care testing with QC documentation.
• Assist providers with in-house procedures as needed.
• Provide administrative support: scheduling, chart prep, referrals, check-in/out, prior authorizations, transportation coordination.
• Float to other offices based on business needs.

Job Description

Provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education. The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role.

Clinical/Administrative Duties Included But Not Limited To

• vitals, outside medication reconciliation, outside allergy reconciliation, screenings, patient history and virtual health.
• Conducts point of care testing including quality control and documentation.
• Assists providers with in-house procedures as needed
• Provides administrative support including but not limited to scheduling, chart prep, referrals, check in/out, prior authorizations and transportation facilitation.
• Floats to other offices based on business needs.

Qualifications

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.

Experience

• In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.
• Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
