Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA, EMT, CNA) to support a fast-paced physician office in Bloomfield, CT. The role combines clinical and clerical duties with a focus on accuracy, teamwork and patient care.

You will perform vitals, history collection, testing, and assist providers, while handling scheduling, referrals and documentation. EPIC EMR experience is preferred, with CT certifications and BLS required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR related experience.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Vitals, history, medication reconciliation, allergy reconciliation, screenings, patient history and virtual health.
• Conducts point of care testing including quality control and documentation.
• Assists providers with in-house procedures as needed.
• Provides administrative support including scheduling, chart prep, referrals, check in/out, prior authorizations and transportation facilitation.
• Floats to other Hartford HealthCare Medical Group offices based on business needs.

Job Description

Provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education. The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role.

Clinical/Administrative Duties Included But Not Limited To

Qualifications

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.

Experience

• In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.
• Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
