Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, OK is seeking a day shift, full-time Electrophysiology Medical Assistant to support clinic operations and patient care within the electrophysiology program.

Responsibilities include patient check-in, vital signs, EMR documentation, credentialing, and coordination with physicians and staff to deliver quality cardiovascular care. Requires High school diploma and BLS; CMA/RMA preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Patient visit support that may include: Greeting patients, and escorting patient to exam room and/or taking patients’ vital signs, and other applicable medical information to effectively support the reason for the patients visit and recommended treatment.
• Sterilizes and prepares medical instruments. Ensures patient exam rooms are disinfected, orderly, and ready for incoming patients. Provides patients with privacy, comfort, safety and hygiene.
• Assists in maintaining inventory and stocking supplies, instruments and equipment for all exam rooms.
• Maintains appropriate paperwork for inventory control and reviews orders received for completeness.
• Addresses and requests referrals and other insurance authorizations in addition to passing along patient information for prescription, x-ray or lab requisitions to necessary parties. This includes calls to pharmacies, hospitals, and labs.

• For OHI clinics, EMT/Paramedics meet qualifications for hire.
