Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support in patient care. Occasional coverage across dermatology offices in Avon, Glastonbury, Cheshire and Southington may be required, with reliable transportation needed.

Qualified candidates will have an MA diploma or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic credentials, CPR/BLS, and EPIC EMR experience is preferred. Benefits include tuition reimbursement and a strong focus on work/life balance.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association within 3 months.
• All required credentials must be maintained throughout employment.
• At least one year of direct patient care experience preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Occasional coverage at Dermatology offices in Avon, Glastonbury, Cheshire and Southington.

Job Summary

Provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of education. The MA experiences continued training of all aspects of the MA role.

Occasional coverage at Dermatology offices in Avon, Glastonbury, Cheshire and Southington. Reliable transportation needed.

Clinical/Administrative Duties Include But Not Limited To

• Vitals, allergy/medical reconciliation, screenings, placing event monitors, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives and virtual health.
• Conducts point of care testing including quality control and documentation.
• Assists providers with in-house procedures, as needed
• Provides administrative support including but not limited to scheduling, chart prep, referrals, check in/out, prior authorizations and transportation facilitation.

Qualifications

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.

Experience

• In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.
• Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
