Job summary

ATC Healthcare Services in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) for day shift per diem coverage. The role involves bedside care, vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, injections, EMR documentation and patient education within an ambulatory setting.

Qualifications include HS diploma, MA program completion, CMA/RMA/CCMA or equivalent certification (BLS preferred) and 1 year of MA experience. Robust HIPAA and infection-control adherence is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current CMA/RMA/CCMA or equivalent certification preferred or required by policy.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year MA experience in ambulatory/outpatient/clinic settings preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist during procedures.
• Perform clinical duties such as specimen collection, EKGs, injections, and point-of-care testing.
• Administer medications and immunizations as allowed by policy.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals.
• Maintain accurate EMR records.
• Prepare, clean and stock examination rooms and equipment.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Follow HIPAA, infection prevention and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and healthcare team.
• Support daily clinic operations and other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

ATC Healthcare Services is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to provide clinical and administrative support in an ambulatory care setting. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality patient care while ensuring efficient clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist healthcare providers during procedures.
• Perform clinical duties such as specimen collection, EKGs, injections, and point-of-care testing within scope of practice.
• Administer medications and immunizations as permitted by state regulations and facility policy.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Prepare, clean, and stock examination rooms and medical equipment.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, follow-up care, and preventive health practices.
• Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, and safety protocols at all times.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Support daily clinic operations and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred or required by facility policy.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory, outpatient, or clinic setting preferred.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
