Trinity Health MI is seeking a Medical Administrative (MA I) to assist with patient examinations, document medical records, and support clinical staff.
This full-time, day-shift role emphasizes accurate EMR entry, vitals collection, patient education, and collaboration with the healthcare team. DOT tests and clinical support in workplace health are included where applicable.
Assists in the examination and treatment of patients by tracking patient information, documenting the medical record, assisting with in-office procedures and testing, administering medications and providing patient and caregiver education. Duties are performed under the oversight and direction of professional clinical staff and providers as outlined in the Clinical Support Staff Scope of Practice document.

MA‑Non‑Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired, or EMT with current/active license in the State of Michigan, or Paramedic following successful completion of the National Registry Paramedic Exam and/or holds a current/active license in the State of Michigan. Valid CPR certification.

For those MA I’s working in Workplace Health, the following additional certifications are required:
0‑1 year previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years of clinical experience providing clinical support in community‑based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.
Ability to perform all NEO Basic Competencies, Medical Receptionist I Essential Functions, work onsite mode, demonstrate competency in obtaining accurate patient vital statistics and health history, subject to standardized testing of clinical skills, proficient in medical terminology, computer operation, electronic medical records, email, e‑learning, intranet, phone etiquette, teamwork, communication with diverse populations, organizational and time‑management skills, sound judgment, problem‑solving, basic math, confidentiality, inventory management, travel, and competency‑based training completion.
The mode of work for this position is onsite. Physical activity requires keyboarding, phone work, charting, time on a computer, lifting over 50 lbs, handling and lifting patients, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, kneeling, twisting, occasionally lifting, pushing, pulling up to 100 lbs. Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust and focus. Manual dexterity sufficient for keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and office equipment. Ability to hear and speak for telephone or face‑to‑face communication in English.
Job operates in a medical facility and requires regular walking to various locations around the hospital/clinic. Employees work where there is patient care equipment. Hazardous materials, including bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids, present. Exposure to sharps, X‑rays, patients’ conditions and unpleasant sights, smells and contagious diseases possible. Position requires significant interaction with people who may be scared, hurt and/or ill, which can be stressful.
