Firelands Health in Clyde, OH is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians with patient care and clinic operations. You will monitor vitals, document medications, and assist with office tasks across sites, including urgent care. CPR certified and Ohio license are required.

The role includes greeting patients, handling calls, and ensuring accurate insurance information for timely billing. Prior urgent care or scribe experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; Medical Assistant cert required; urgent care exp preferred.
• Must be able to function as Medical Scribe occasionally.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Proficient with PCs; strong typing; Outlook, Excel and Word desired.
• Able to build effective relationships with staff, patients, and public.
• Strong written and verbal communication with staff, patients, and insurers.
• Capable of preparing and presenting reports to management as needed.
• Remain calm and poised in urgent situations.
• Initiative, judgement, problem solving, data interpretation, and reporting skills.
• Experience with point-of-care testing, vital signs, EKG and related care.
• Must hold a valid Ohio driver's license and be insurable under Firelands policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care and provide information to patients.
• Monitor patient flow; obtain and document vitals and medications.
• Perform clinical duties including phlebotomy and EKG tasks.
• Schedule procedures and tests; track and bill for services.
• Greet patients, vendors, and visitors; route calls and manage switchboard.
• Verify insurance, obtain pre-certifications; manage authorizations.
• Maintain accurate daily records for timely billing and accounts receivable.
• Cover assigned practice sites and assist others as needed.
