Job summary

StatCare in Knoxville, TN, is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our outpatient clinic team. You will support physicians, perform clinical tasks, and maintain accurate patient records to ensure efficient daily operations.

The ideal candidate has 2-year degree, MA or LPN certification, and at least six months of clinic experience, with a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Certification as Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from an accredited program is required.
• Strong clinical knowledge and ability to perform standard MA/LPN tasks.
• Experience in clinical settings, especially emergency medicine or geriatrics, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record vital signs (BP, temp, heart rate).
• Prepare patients for examination and explain procedures.
• Administer injections and monitor responses.
• Perform basic lab tests and assist with medical coding for insurance.
• Maintain clinic cleanliness and organize workflow.
• Document patient information accurately in EHR systems.
• Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure high-quality care.

This individual plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional healthcare services as a part of our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various medical specialties, including emergency medicine, geriatrics, dermatology, and internal medicine. This role involves providing essential support to physicians and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. This individual will be responsible for assisting with patient care, performing clinical tasks, and maintaining accurate medical records.

DUTIES

• Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate
• Prepare patients for examination by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort

• Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with coding for insurance purposes
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Provide education to patients regarding treatment plans and preventive care
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient care

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Certification as a Medical Assistant or LPN from an accredited program is required
• Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, particularly in emergency medicine or geriatrics
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and vital signs assessment is essential
• Familiarity with coding practices related to medical billing is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• A compassionate approach to patient care with an emphasis on empathy and understanding

CERTIFICATION OR LICENSE(s): Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse LPN), certification required.
