Sentara Health in Suffolk, VA is hiring a Full-time Limited Scope Radiology Technician at the Sentara Urgent Care Center.

Clinic hours are Mon-Fri 8a-8p and Sat-Sun 8a-4p. The role combines patient care in Medical Assistant duties and limited radiology examinations under physician/NP/PA supervision.

Required: HS diploma or equivalent, CMA/RMA/CCMA or EMT Basic certification, Limited Radiology Technician license as dictated by state, and BLS within 90 days; clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CMA, RMA, CCMA, or EMT Basic certification.
• Limited Radiology Technician license as mandated by state.
• BLS certification within 90 days from hire.
• Clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care and radiologic examinations within the limited scope.
• Maintains safety and performs tasks under supervision by physician, NP/PA, RN or LPN.
• Collaborates with the care team to ensure efficient patient flow and accurate imaging.

Overview:

Sentara Urgent Care Centerbrooke is now hiring a Full-time Limited Scope Radiology Technician in Suffolk, VA!

Clinic hours: Mon-Fri - 8a-8p, Weekends - 8a-4p

In Medical Assistant role, performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). In Radiology Tech Limited role, provides patient care and limited skills in the performance of Radiographic examinations. Must practice within the limited scope as defined by the State Department of Health Professions. May only perform the following radiology examinations: Chest; extremities, pectoral girdle; skull/sinuses; spine; In addition, may perform abdominal and pelvic radiographic exams with appropriate evidence of training as stated in the State Department of Health Professions regulations on Limited Radiologic Technologists. Demonstrates the ability to maintain stable performance under stressful conditions; organizes and manages work to achieve results.

Education

• HS - High School Grad or Equivalent
• Trade School or higher graduate

Certification/Licensure

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or EMT Basic Certification _ Required _
• Limited Radiology Technician state license as needed by state _ Required _
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days from hire
