Intermountain Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our clinical team at the Utah Valley Clinic in Provo, Utah. You will assist providers, gather patient information, and ensure smooth patient flow during visits.

The role requires MA program completion or equivalent experience, plus BLS, basic computer skills, and strong communication. We offer education assistance and opportunities for career growth within Intermountain Health.

Qualifications

• Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in-good-standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in Utah.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver high patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.
• Utah Only: MA residency program if certified with less than one year MA experience.

As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by: Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, providing care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition. Effective Communication: Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions. Team Collaboration: Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care. Attention to detail and follow-through are key components in helping to provide the care that is needed.

Minimum Qualifications This position requires one of the following: Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry. Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction. Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers. Utah Only: If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program Preferred Qualifications Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting. Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software. Current national MA certification from one of the following national MA certifications or registrations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA Location: Utah Valley Clinic Work City: Provo Work State: Utah Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $20.07 - $28.59
