Job summary

American Institute is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the Medical Assistant program. The role involves teaching core content, laboratory skills, and professionalism, while guiding and evaluating student demonstrations of required clinical skills.

Instructors support remediation, course outcomes, and conduct online campus instruction as needed. You will report to the Medical Assistant Program Director and collaborate with leaders to maximize retention, certification, graduation, and placement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• Equivalent of 15 semester credits hours in the subject field.
• Academic preparation in the specific courses taught.
• Graduation from a program in the healthcare field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of occupational experience.
• Active industry certification/licensure as required by state/accrediting bodies.
• Able to communicate professionally in English (verbal and written).
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Able to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Teaches material from approved curriculum in accordance with assigned schedules and deadlines.
• Prepares for each week of instruction and demonstrates proficiency with relevant software and materials.
• Evaluates student coursework against learning outcomes and ensures achievement.
• Grades all assignments and posts grades promptly.
• Provides students with constructive feedback highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
• Maintains a positive, student-centered learning environment.
• Creates and implements curricular scaffolding to match student needs.
• Provides high quality academic support and intervention.
• Maintains compliance with institutional policies and responsibilities.
