Medical Assistant – Independence Family Physicians – Parma (260005K4)

A Brief Overview

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. This role includes but is not limited to rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, assisting with procedures, supporting providers, and promoting efficient patient flow while delivering patient-centered care.

What You Will Do

Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
Responsible for all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
Performs patient centered care delegated by Provider.
Provides a safe environment for patients.

Additional Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education

Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (Required)
High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
