Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem seeks a Medical Assistant - IC - Per Diem to support our Lombard clinics. The role involves per diem shifts, rotating weekends, and travel to local Immediate Cares as needed. Flexible hours and strong clinical skills are essential.

Responsibilities include assisting clinicians, taking vitals, performing basic procedures, and ensuring patient flow. Requires HS diploma, CPR BLS, and active MA certification; prior MA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CPR BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association for healthcare providers is required.
• Current certification or registration through recognized Medical Assistant certifying bodies is required.
• Previous Medical Assisting experience is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance are required.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$20.29 - $29.42 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Medical Assistant - IC - Per Diem
• Location: 130 S Main Street
• Per Diem - as needed
• Clinic Hours: Monday to Friday 8 am - 8 pm, rotating holidays and rotating weekends 8 am - 4 pm
• Required Travel: As needed to local Immediate Cares and Walk in Clinics
• This role includes some travel to other locations and requires flexible hours to meet operational needs

What you will need:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Current CPR BLS Certification issued by American Heart Association for healthcare providers required
• Current certification or registration through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), American Medical Technologies (AMT), National Center for Medical Assistants (NCMA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Health career Association (NHA) required.
• Previous Medical Assisting experience preferred
• Valid drivers license and auto insurance
