Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Medical South location in Springfield, MO. The role supports the Hyperbaric and Wound Care SGF department with clinical tasks under provider supervision.

Requires completion of an MA program with externship and a high school diploma; certification through CoxHealth programs (CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP) is required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Formal MA training program including pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, medication administration basics, and clinical externship.

Job Description

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Required effective 9/1/20: Graduated from a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship.

Experience

• Required: None
• Preferred: Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people
• Preferred: Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider.
• Proficient Computer skills

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Required: Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP.
