Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support the SMC Urology clinic and ensure smooth patient flow. You will room patients, perform vital signs, phlebotomy as needed, vaccines, and assist providers with procedures, while handling administrative tasks such as scheduling and referrals.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient rooms, stocking supplies, and ensuring excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; MA program preferred.
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred; CMA certification is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Proficient in electronic medical records and standard computer tools.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients professionally and escorts to exam rooms.
• Assist with varied procedures under provider supervision.
• Take vital signs and document findings.
• Support administrative tasks: scheduling, phone coverage, and referrals.
• Coordinate room rotations and test result communication.
• Prepare and stock supplies; maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Communicate schedule changes and participate in staff meetings.
• Cross-train for front desk coverage when needed.
• Utilize EMR tools and imaging uploads as required.
• Contribute to patient education and follow-up communications.
• Participate in flu clinic sessions and safety initiatives.
