ChristianaCare’s Primary Care at New Castle is seeking a professional Medical Assistant II to support virtual and on-site patient care, room patients, and record vitals. You will assist clinicians with exams, prepare treatment rooms, and manage EMR documentation to ensure smooth workflow.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by NCCA or ANSI.
• 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant required; 3 years’ experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vitals.
• Assist providers with exams and procedures (virtual and on-site).
• Assist with scheduling, referrals, refills, and EMR documentation.
• Maintain sterile treatment rooms and manage POCT equipment quality control.

The_ Medical Assistant II _ensures high-quality patient care, assists providers with virtual and on-site exams and treatments, and provides leadership by mentoring staff and supporting practice operations.

Work Schedule:

• Monday through Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm with a possibility of a rotational shift to 7:00am -3:30pm

• No weekends or holidays.

• Flexibility for cross coverage as needed, preferred

Duties / Responsibilities:
The_ Medical Assistant II _supports virtual and on-site patient care by rooming patients, recording vitals, performing tests, injections, medication administration, and EKGs. They assist clinicians with exams and procedures, prepare treatment rooms, manage EMR documentation, handle patient callbacks, and maintain equipment sterilization. Additional duties include managing authorizations, referrals, refills, scheduling, quality control of POCT equipment, clerical tasks, supply management, staff coverage, and ensuring safe work practices.

Position Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or GED required.

• A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

• 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant is required; 3 years’ experience is preferred

Hourly Pay Range: $20.24 - $30.36

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
