ChristianaCare Health Services, Inc. seeks a dependable Medical Assistant I to support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care.

You will perform essential clinical and clerical tasks, prepare patients for exams, update EMR, and assist with referrals and portal access in a busy school-based health center network. This full-time/part-time role offers a 40-hour workweek across 42 weeks annually, with comprehensive benefits and a strong emphasis on communication and integrity to deliver

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or ANSI.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Assistant I greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical and administrative tasks, such as assisting with exams, and maintaining exam rooms and equipment.
• They manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.

ChristianaCare's School-Based Health Centers are embedded in high schools and elementary schools across the Newcastle and Kent Counties. The School-Based Health Centers were established especially for students to help make the best quality health care available in our community more accessible to them.

The School Based Health Centers provide comprehensive medical and mental health care, treatment and health education to promote a healthy lifestyle. Each health center is operated by a partnership that includes ChristianaCare, school districts, and the Delaware Division of Public Health, Department of Health and Social Services.

Work Schedule: Mondays -Fridays: 8:00am - 4:00pm Full-time opportunities offer 40-hour workweeks throughout the calendar year. This position is a 40 hour work week for 42 weeks annually. No weekends or holidays

Hourly Pay Range: $19.48 - $28.24 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
