Job summary

Inland Imaging Associates, LLC in Spokane, WA, is looking for a Medical Assistant to provide support during patient's admission and recovery at Holy Family Outpatient Based Imaging Center. This supplemental position fills in for staff on vacation or sick leave and operates on a Monday to Friday schedule during the day shift.

The ideal candidate will interface with patients, work closely with healthcare providers, and ensure smooth operations in the department. Candidates must have a High School diploma and be graduates of an accredited Medical Assistant Program, with previous experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is a must.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians and nurses during patient admit and recovery.
  • Interview patients for medical history and record vital signs.
  • Monitor patients during infusion under RN supervision.

Base Pay Range:$18.06 - $27.09Job Description:The Medical Assistant is a Supplemental position filling in for vacation and sick calls at Holy Family Outpatient Based Imaging Center. Clinic is open Monday-Friday day shift. This position is eligible for a 12% supplemental differentialSummary: Works under the direction of the OBIC RN. Assists physicians and nurses with admit and recovery of all OBIC patients. Helps facilitate efficient department flow by assisting all departments within the OBIC with patient care and unit needs. Takes patient’s history and vital signs, performs additional duties as trained and assigned. Assists in examinations and procedures when requested. Interacts with the providers, other departments within Inland Imaging, patients and family members and outside contacts with care and compassion. Participates in OBIC team meetings and learning opportunities, displays willingness to perform new tasks and responsibilities.Essential Duties / Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Escorts patients to recovery or procedure roomAssists patient in preparing for exam or procedure.Obtains and documents vital signsInterviews patient to obtain patient chief complaint, histories, medications, allergies and enters data into EMR or procedure note.Assesses and reports findings to RN vascular access and procedure sites.Applies and changes dressings.Performs Accuchecks, documents, and reports findings to RNStarts IVs and performs venipunctures with prior training and shown competency under supervision of RNTriages patient phone calls, documenting instructions provided, and/or route to provider for direction and disposition.Monitors infusion patients at the direction and under the supervision of RNCalls pharmacy with authorized prescription refills and document in EMRContacts patient with provider directed instructions and document in EMR.Calls patient post-procedure for wellness check and post-procedure symptomsReviews EMR/paper medical records prior to patient encounters to ensure chart is in order and includes all information that will be needed by the provider for the encounter.Obtains outside patient records, films and other reports as needed by the providersMaintains, clean and stock exam rooms and nursing unit.Keeps all supply/equipment, trays/kits fully stocked at all times.Checks inventory medical supplies and provides order requests to appropriate personEnsures provider has all paperwork needed for each exam, including previous reports, H&P's, lab results, and referral slips.Ensures that previous medical records are received and scanned into patients’ chart for scheduled appointmentsAnswers and fields patient calls label and deliver lab specimens to HFH as directed by RN or MDUses required computer programs proficiently.Other duties and tasks as assigned.General Duties and Responsibilities:Ability to maintain strict confidentiality within the Inland Imaging companies and Inland’s customers.Follows all Health and Safety policies and guidelines of Inland Imaging or its partners depending on work location.Follows all company policies including those regarding harassment, non-retaliation, discrimination, respectful workplace, and related policies.Follows all policies regarding HIPAA, non-disclosure of confidential information and company security.Honest, pleasant manner and good personal hygiene.Free of alcohol and drug abuse.Valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Detail oriented; ability to multi-task; organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrates self-directed learning and participation in continuing education through professional journals, approved seminars, etc.Ability to consider individual needs in communication with and assessment and treatment of patients of all ages.Adheres to departmental standards and personnel policies by demonstrating professional demeanor in conduct and appearance.Follows company departmental standards and personnel policies by using good teamwork and communication skills to help identify concerns and solutions, assisting where needed to ensure a smooth functioning department.Performs other duties as required by displaying team spirit and self-growth, accepting and performing other projects and responsibilities, and requesting other projects and responsibilities.Quarterly quality assurance meeting attendance is required for this position.Attendance is a requirement for this position.Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed.Supervisory Responsibilities:There is no supervisory responsibility in this positionAdvocacy:Treats all patients with dignity and respectProvides excellent customer serviceConforms to Joint Commission and HIPAA regulationsComplies with PHI (Protected Health Information)Demonstrates the Inland Imaging Core ValuesShow We Care, Do The Right Thing, Maximize Individual Potential, Always Aim HigherQualifications:Education: High School Diploma or GED; graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program is requiredExperience:o One year of Medical Assistant experience is preferredo Anatomy and medical terminologyCertifications: Applicant/Employees must have passed CMA Board Exam offered through an Academic Institution.o Current CPR/BLS requiredComputer Skills: Experience with MS OfficeBackground Check:o Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adultso In order to comply with provisions set forth in Sections 1128 and 1156 of the Social Security Act, all new employees of Inland Imaging Clinical Associates, LLC will be checked against the LIST OF EXCLUDED INDIVIDUALS provided by the Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG).
