Job description

Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team, working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of quality care. You will play a vital role in making a difference in patients' lives.

Essential Functions
  1. Assist physicians/providers by providing primary healthcare and patient care management.
  2. Collaborate with clerical staff to optimize operations and patient flow.
  3. Interact with outside healthcare facilities and agencies regarding patient care and insurance.
  4. Maintain updated competencies and communicate effectively with leadership and accreditation bodies about processes and workflows.
  5. Perform front office duties as needed.
  6. Provide coverage in other departments or locations as required.
  7. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and support patient- and family-centered care.
Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or certification such as LPN, EMT, ER Tech, or paramedic, with relevant experience required.
  3. Consideration may be given to nursing students from accredited programs after beginning clinical coursework.
  4. Completion of a clinical rotation or equivalent and relevant experience required.
  5. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC upon hire required.
