Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in an outpatient clinic. You will prepare patients for visits, maintain patient flow, assist providers with treatments, administer medications, and support clerical tasks including scheduling and EMR management.

The role requires a high school diploma, MA program completion, BLS, and completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months MA experience or completion of an MA or Nursing Assistant program.
• Completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.
• BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required.
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response training (e.g. BLS).

Responsibilities

• Perform MA procedures under supervision after competency.
• Prepare patient for rooming and exam.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations.
• Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes.
• Collect lab specimens.
• Provide basic education to patients.
• Set up aseptic and sterile procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Six months MA experience or MA/Nursing Assistant program

Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire

BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider)

Current emergency response certifications (e.g. BLS)
