Job summary

Methodist Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to work under the supervision of physicians and nurses. You will provide healthcare to individuals and families, perform routine clinical tasks, and document in patient charts as directed.

Responsibilities include patient history, vitals, injections with proper documentation, and assisting with nursing care. A valid CPR certificate and MA certification or eligibility within 90 days are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 2+ years of professional medical assisting in a practice setting is preferred.
• National/Registered Medical Assistant Certification or obtained certification within 90 days of hire date.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Requires ability to perform job duties with lifting and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintains strict patient confidentiality.
• Implement patient care under physician guidance.
• Screen phone calls during triage under physician supervision.
• Administer injections with documentation.
• Assist in nursing care and take patient history and vitals.
• Check for expired medication monthly and manage disposal.
• Maintain supplies and vaccines and organize storage.
