Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit area is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Warren GM Tech Center clinic. The MA will perform clinical and administrative tasks under supervision to support patient care and a seamless patient experience.

Ideal candidates will have a Medical Assistant program with externship and current BLS-C certification. This is an on-site position requiring patient-facing responsibilities and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum).
• Current BLS-C upon hire or by end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms.
• Obtain and record accurate medical histories and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, assisting providers as needed.
• Perform administrative tasks to support the practice.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years, OR
  • Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR
  • Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years, OR
  • Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
