Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of MA or similar experience OR clinical rotation training.
• CPR for Health Care workers or Basic Life Support preferred.
• HIPAA compliance and confidentiality required.
• Experience with geriatric patients is a plus.
• Excellent communication and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Measures and records patient vital signs; records patient interview and medical history.
• Assists providers with patient examinations, therapies, and procedures.
• Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests; explains instructions.
• Monitors physiological measurements and reports changes to PCP.
• Provides treatments per protocols and maintains patient safety.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of clinical areas per OSHA standards.
• Manages phone calls and coordinates messages for physicians and staff.
• Requests and coordinates radiographic and laboratory studies as directed.
• Orders and generates medical records; ensures accurate documentation.
• Proficient with EMR and Microsoft Office tools for reporting.
