Job summary

INTEGRIS Health Medical Group General Surgery Outpatient Clinic in Ponca City, OK is hiring a day shift, full-time Medical Assistant. The role involves direct patient care, including vitals, patient history, venipuncture, and support for referrals and lab work.

Responsibilities include documenting patient information, monitoring status, contributing to care plans, and maintaining excellent telephone etiquette when handling calls. CPR/BLS within 90 days is required.

Qualifications

• Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification/registration or 6 months of clinic MA experience.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals and complete patient history.
• Assist with venipuncture, lab, x-ray, and referrals as directed by the provider.
• Manage large call volume with professional telephone etiquette.
• Document patient information, status, and plan of care.
• Assist in organizing workflow to meet patient needs in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care by taking vitals, patient history, venipuncture, lab, x-ray, referrals, and patient phone messages as directed by the provider and/or clinical supervisor.

The Medical Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Gathers and documents information about patient condition, which include lab values, pain levels, patient education needs, nutritional status and potential complications
• Contributes to the assessment/re-assessment of patients
• Monitors and documents patient status
• Participates in the development of the plan of care, including implementation and evaluation of appropriate patient care interventions which may include medication administration (exclusive of narcotics)
• Manages large call volume while maintaining excellent telephone etiquette
• Organizes workflow to meet patient needs in a timely manner
• May retrieve and transport medications
• Reports to assigned director, manager, supervisor or lead.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification/registration; OR 6 of months of clinic MA experience
• 6 months of customer service experience preferred
• CPR or BLS certification within 90 days of employment
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)
