Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Pittsburgh is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient flow, document medical histories, and assist providers in a fast-paced urgent care setting. We welcome candidates from diverse clinical backgrounds.

The role may require MA certifications within 12 months and Basic Life Support as part of the onboarding process. This position offers a minimum wage of $17/hour, plus monthly incentive pay based on performance metrics and a sign-on bonus up to $2,000 for eligible

• Eligible for MA certifications within 12 months if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and documentation.
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history.
• Take vital signs and perform preliminary assessments.
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records.
• Coordinate referrals and answer patient questions.

Job Requirements:

Education

Required:

• High School Diploma orequivalent

AND

• 1+ years of working experienceas a Medical Assistant in a Hospital, Primary Care,Emergency Department,or Urgent Care setting

OR

• One of the following MA certifications at the time of hire( or must obtain within 12 months of hire):
• CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (verified through NHA, National Health career Association)
• CMA- Certified Medical Assistant (verified through AAMA, American Association of Medical Assistant)
• RMA- Registered Medical Assistant (verified through AMT, American Medical Technologists or AAH, American Allied Health)
• NCMA- National Certified Medical Assistant (verified through NCCT, National Center for Competency Testing)
• NRCMA – Nationally Registered Certified Medial Assistant (verified through the National Association for Health Professionals)

OR

• One of the following:
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing,LPNor LVN at the time of hire (verified through state license)
• EMT- Emergency Medical Technician (verified throughstate certification and/orthe National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)
• Paramedic (verified through statecertification and/orand the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)

Required Licenses/Certifications

• CPOE certificationrequiredwithin 2 weeks of hire if MA certification is not obtained at hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS)requiredat the time of hire obtained throughthe American Red Cross(ARC) orAmerican Heart Association (AHA)

One of the following certifications isrequired(or must obtain within 12months of hire):

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments
• Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
• Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals
• Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks
• Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment
• All other duties as assigned.
