Job summary

PM Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant to support pediatric urgent care across Pompton Plains and Paramus, NJ locations. You will assist with patient intake, vital signs, labs, wound care, and front desk duties under physician supervision.

Your role emphasizes patient-centered care, teamwork with providers, and maintaining accurate records while adhering to safety and confidentiality standards. Experience with pediatrics and lab procedures is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in pediatrics preferred.
• Ability to obtain lab tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• EKG placement and processing in children.
• Professional and friendly demeanor.
• Strong communications and organizational skills.
• Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with medical records preferred; willingness to learn medical software.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients as they arrive.
• Obtain medical history, vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for X-rays.
• Perform and document routine labs (throat/urine cultures; venipuncture experience preferred).
• Irrigate and assist with wounds.
• Assist in quality control testing in the lab.
• Be an integral part of the patient care team within scope of practice.
• Keep exam rooms and front reception stocked; maintain waiting area cleanliness.
• Respond to emergencies and notify medical team as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and report changes to management.
• Assist with complaints and service recovery when needed.
• Perform other duties including splint application and assisting nurses/providers.
• Provide exceptional customer service.

Please note that actual salaries/rates may vary within this range above or below, depending on experience and location.
