Job Summary

Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting.

Responsibilities

1. Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam.
2. Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
3. Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
4. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure.
5. Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing.
6. Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions.
7. Respond to all lab messages and call back requests.
8. Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations.
9. Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure.
10. Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis.
11. Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
12. Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
13. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Certified Medical Assistants must have 1+ year of experience.
