Job summary

CareSpot Urgent Care in Fleming Island, FL is hiring a Medical Assistant for a full-time role. The MA will support providers with exams, procedures, and patient care, including vitals, triage, blood draws, and immunizations.

Responsibilities include room setup, patient transport, and assisting with administrative tasks such as insurance verification and payment collection. Qualified candidates may have formal MA training or equivalent certification, or active CMA/RMA designation, or 6 months of

• Must have completed a Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, Radiologic Technologist, or relevant program.
• Active RMA or CMA designation acceptable.
• 6 months of MA-related experience or CNA with phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification with 6 months of related experience or 1 year experience where phlebotomy is primary.

• Blood draws, venipuncture, specimen collection, and basic lab work.
• Administering medications and immunizations under supervision.
• Set up/prepare treatment rooms and bring patients to exam rooms.

POSITION SUMMARY

What you’ll be doing: We are hiring a Medical Assistant to assist our providers with exams, procedures and other processes to meet the specific needs of our patients, including but not limited to:

• Triaging patients, measuring vitals, and recording information on patients’ charts
• Blood draws, venipuncture, specimen collection, and completion of lab work
• Administering medications and immunizations under provider direction
• Setting up procedures as instructed by provider
• Preparing treatment rooms for examinations and bringing patients from the waiting room to exam rooms
• Checking patients in and out; verifying insurance; collecting payments

What you’ll bring to the table: Graduation from a Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or other relevant program, OR an active Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant designation, OR 6 months of experience in a relevant environment, OR licensed CNA with phlebotomy experience, OR possess phlebotomy certification and 6 months of verifiable experience with Phlebotomy, OR 1 year of verifiable experience in a role where phlebotomy is the primary function. We’d also prefer if you have prior recent experience in a healthcare setting, such as an emergency department, urgent care, or other ambulatory clinic.

A few requirements:

• Graduate of one of the following programs: Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-A only), Paramedic, Radiologic Technologist, or another relevant program; or possesses active Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) designation; or High School or GED AND 6 months of MA experience in a relevant environment; or licensed CNA with phlebotomy experience
• Certification: BLS
