Job summary

The CORE Institute | HOPCo seeks a Medical Assistant or LPN to support patient care across Arizona clinics. You will room patients, take vitals, prepare exam areas, and assist the provider with procedures while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate EMR documentation.

Preference given to candidates with MA or LPN training and prior medical office experience. Strong patient communication and teamwork are essential for delivering quality care across multiple locations.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program or LPN license.
  • Background in medical assisting or nursing support with HIPAA awareness.
  • Experience in back office patient care and EMR data entry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and prepare examination areas, document vitals, and review intake paperwork.
  • Assist providers with procedures, prepare prescriptions, and complete medical forms as needed.
  • Ensure rooms are stocked, chart patient visits, and support patient education as directed by the provider.
  • Monitor and manage EMR entries, scans, and scheduling to promote a smooth patient flow.

Job description

  • Facilitates communication between the patient and the provider during patient care:
    • Collect and shares pertinent information with the provider
    • Receives and acts on directives from the provider
  • Responsible for preparing the patient for visit with the provider. Duties include but are not limited to, rooming patients, obtaining, and documenting vitals, reviewing intake paperwork, pulling up radiology images, removing the dressing, procedure set-up, injection prep, accurate data entry into EMR.
  • Responsible for completing tasks associated with Company initiatives such as PROs, Quality Payment Programs, etc.
  • Maintains exam room standards. Rooms should be restocked at the end of each clinic day. Rooms and tables should be cleaned as needed during the clinic and at the end of each day.
  • Monitor biohazard and sharps containers and replace them as needed.
  • Assist the provider in preparing patient prescriptions and completing medical and patient forms (i.e. work release, FMLA, etc.).
  • Retrieves and responds to voicemails within 24 business hours and documents actions in EMR.
  • Prepares patient electronic charts for clinic visits before the date of service.
  • Verify any outstanding testing results are in EMR, confirm the appropriateness of the patient to the provider (body part and/or insurance), note imaging, DME, or casting needed before provider visit on the date of service.
  • Scans clinical documents into EMR.
  • Print clinic schedules on the morning of the date of service.
  • Ensures patient receives education as indicated by the provider.
  • Manages EMR desktops of assigned providers promptly.
  • Create and promote a positive patient experience
  • Performs other CIN duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
EXPERIENCE
  • Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
EDUCATION
  • Medical Assistant certificate of completion from an accredited program or LPN license
KNOWLEDGE
  • Knowledge of the health care field.
  • General knowledge of patient care in a clinic.
  • Knowledge of back office skills.
  • Knowledge of patient confidentiality, state laws, HIPAA regulations, and medical records procedures.
