Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Charlotte Hall Facility in Maryland. The role supports the medical staff by handling phone coverage, documentation, admissions, vital signs, and lab procedures.

You will assist with consent processes and coordinate referrals as needed within a patient-centered care environment. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and CMA certification; prior experience in behavioral health settings and CPR/First Aid is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active CMA certification is preferred.
• Experience in drug and alcohol and/or residential settings is preferred.
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls and complete documentation and filing to support medical staff.
• Complete medical records accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with admissions and consent process for clients, providing ongoing support during medical appointments.
• Obtain vital signs and urine screens, documenting outcomes for medical team review.
• Complete lab requisitions upon admission and as needed, monitoring outcomes with the medical team.
• Create and distribute client packets efficiently.
• Support prior authorization and medication ordering processes as needed.
• Schedule follow-up medical appointments and external referrals as directed by the medical team.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Shift: 3 PM - 11 PM

Hourly Rate: $15 - $18.50/hour (based on education/experience)

Deliverables/Principal Results Expected

• Schedule follow-up medical appointments and make external referrals for clients as directed by the medical team.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• Experience in a drug and alcohol and/or residential setting, preferred.
• Active certification as a Certified Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants in lieu of high school diploma/GED.
• Experience as a Medical Assistant through employment or a successful internship, preferred.
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification, preferred.
