Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island in Commack, NY is hiring a Medical Assistant, FGP. The successful candidate will assist physicians, nurses and Advanced Care Practitioners, prepare exam rooms, collect vitals, draw blood, and perform data entry.

You will support administrative tasks, schedule appointments, manage EMR entries in EPIC, and ensure patient privacy in line with HIPAA. Prior MA training and English proficiency required; bilingual a plus.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution or hold a current medical assistant certification from a nationally recognized institution.
• Working knowledge of English; other language is an asset.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms
• Cleans and stocks exam rooms
• Measures and records patient vital signs
• Obtains and processes blood samples
• Supports EMR data entry and documentation
• Promotes a positive patient experience
• Communicates with providers and staff, escalates issues
• Answers phone calls and manages inbasket messages
• Assists with prescription refills and patient history
• Transcribes history and assists with EPIC documentation
• Performs other duties as assigned
