Job summary

Well Rooted Pediatrics PLLC in Frisco is seeking a friendly, experienced Medical Assistant with strong front office skills to support a busy pediatric practice. The role blends clinical duties with administrative tasks, requiring at least 2 years in a medical office and CMA/RMA/CCMA certification.

You will welcome patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments, assist providers, and maintain accurate EHR records while delivering exceptional patient care in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office.
  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
  • Current BLS Certification preferred.
  • Pediatric experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with administrative projects as needed.
  • Prepare patient charts and review documentation before visits.
  • Room patients and record vital signs.
  • Assist providers during examinations.
  • Administer vaccines and collect specimens as scope allows.

Job description

Well Rooted Pediatrics is seeking a friendly, experienced and dependable healthcare professional who is comfortable working in both the clinical and administrative areas of a busy pediatric practice.

At this time, we are not hiring entry-level candidates or new graduates. Applicants must have previous experience in at least one of the following:

  • Medical Assistant in a physician's office or outpatient clinic (preferred: pediatrics or family medicine) rooming patients, documenting information, coordinating laboratory testing, venipunctures and/or
  • Medical front office experience, including patient scheduling, insurance verification, check-in/check-out, and telephone communication.

Candidates with experience in both clinical Medical Assistant duties and front office operations is required. The ideal candidate is cross-trained, adaptable, and enjoys working wherever support is needed to provide an exceptional patient experience.

This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities
Front Office Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients and families while providing outstanding customer service.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally.
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments following office scheduling guidelines.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits.
  • Collect copays, balances, and self-pay fees while accurately posting payments.
  • Assist patients with registration forms, consent forms, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate patient information within the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Scan, fax, file, and retrieve patient records as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
  • Assist with administrative projects and other office duties as assigned.
Clinical Medical Assistant Responsibilities
  • Prepare patient charts prior to appointments by reviewing documentation, laboratory results, and visit needs.
  • Room patients by obtaining vital signs, medical history updates, and medication reconciliation.
  • Prepare exam rooms and medical equipment before patient visits.
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
Venipunctures
  • Administer vaccines, medications, and perform clinical procedures within scope of practice.
  • Collect laboratory specimens and coordinate outside laboratory testing.
  • Track laboratory and imaging results to ensure timely follow-up.
  • Communicate normal and abnormal results to families as directed by providers.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and exam rooms following infection control protocols.
  • Monitor and maintain clinical inventory and medical supplies.
