You will regularly work at 3+ sites within the assigned area, ensuring seamless patient care and HIPAA compliance. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and a NJ-accredited medical assisting program (330 hours).

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited NJ medical assisting program with at least 330 hours, including IM/SC injections.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Able to travel to multiple locations within assigned area and work 3+ sites regularly.

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and verify identity.

As a Float resource, the incumbent is required to regularly work at 3+ different locations within their assigned area. **Job Duties*** Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson* Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification.* Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.* Remains proficient and knowledgable regarding the use and documentation requirements within information technology sstems within established scope of practice.* Assists physicians with examinations, various diagnostic procedures, and may perform EKG and venipuncture/injections in the office, using appropriate skills to provide quality care to the patients.* Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.* Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and to facilitate smooth operations of the office. **Minimum Qualifications*** High School Diploma/GED HS Diploma or equivalent required.* Specialized Diploma For NJ Only: Graduate of an accredited post-secondary medical assisting education program which includes, at a minimum, 330 hours of instruction and encompasses training in the administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.* Excellent communication and organizational skills.* Knowledge of medical terminology.* Familiarity with medical office procedures.* Ability to travel to various assigned locations.* Customer Interaction Knowledge of and ability to utilize practices, tools, and techniques for communicating with a customer.* Medical Equipment Knowledge of the common types of equipment or devices used in the healthcare industry, and the ability to use these in patient care.* Health Information Documentation Knowledge of the relevance of health information and appropriate documentation methods, ability to record medical histories, symptoms, vital signs, medications, diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, tests, and medical results in written or electronic fo* Patient Chart Reading and Interpretation Knowledge of how to read and interpret patient charts regarding medication sheets, diets, history and physicals, and tests, ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to patient care.* Clinical Skills Knowledge of and ability to provide clinical skills necessary for patient care, e.g. history taking, therapeutic planning and monitoring, etc., to achieve optimized outcomes in medication therapy and clinical treatment.* Clinical Performance Improvement Knowledge of the factors contributing to quality patient care, and the ability to influence these factors in a positive way.* CMA - Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants Within 180 Days **Additional Qualifications*** For internal Einstein applicants only: Medical Assistant certification is not required if the applicant is a current Einstein employee in a Medical Assistant role with a hire date prior to 7/1/2024.* BLS through the American Red Cross may be acceptable at some PA practice locations. **Physical Demands** Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. \*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
