Job summary

Astrana Health is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant to support our providers and patients at our Las Vegas clinics. You will perform administrative and clinical duties, schedule appointments, maintain records, and assist with patient care in a fast-paced environment.

You will report to the Regional Clinic Manager, work onsite at 5915 S Rainbow Blvd, and help scale our healthcare operations while ensuring high-quality patient interactions.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
  • Experience with medical terminology and patient data entry is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Assists physicians, nurses, and other medical staff with administrative and clinical tasks.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain medical records.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, record patient history and vital signs.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and document information in charts.
  • Prioritize workload in a fast-paced clinic environment.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Medical Assistant to assist our medical providers. The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of our regional medical clinics. The position supports both providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. This role will report to our Regional Clinic Manager and enable us to continue to scale in the healthcare industry.

What You'll Do

  • Assists physicians, nurses, and other medical staff by performing administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a provider
  • Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records
  • Clinical duties may include, such as preparing a treatment room for patient exams, recording patient medical history, and cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in the patient's chart
  • Interviews patients to obtain their medical history
  • Records patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results in patient medical files
  • Must be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Be able to prioritize workload while remaining flexible
  • May be required to work extended hours as operational needs dictate
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Display knowledge of medical terminology
  • Possess excellent customer service skills
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Proficient in MS Office and patient management software
  • Previous experience in phlebotomy or laboratory work (preferred)
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Pass a minimum of one exam from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (preferred)
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Our organization follows an in-person work structure where the expectation is to work onsite on a daily basis. The home site for this position is 5915 S Rainbow Blvd, Suite 100, Las Vegas, NV 89118, with the expectation of floating to all other locations as directed by the supervisor.
  • The base pay range for this role is $17 - $23 per hour. This salary range represents our national target range for this role.
