Job summary

Munson Healthcare's FFCHC Urgent Care Clinic in Traverse City is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting.

You will perform clinical and administrative tasks, room and prepare patients, take vitals, and document histories and referrals. BLS is preferred and must be obtained within 90 days.

This full-time role offers day and PM shifts, a sign-on bonus, and benefits as part of Munson's community-focused care in northern Michigan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Credentialed Medical Assistant per Munson credentialing.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic alongside the provider.
• Room and prepare patients according to clinic checklists or procedures.
• Measure patient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure as required.
• Complete required patient care documentation including medical histories and referrals.
• Assist with day-to-day operations to support optimal patient care.

A Day inthe Life

• As a Medical Assistant, you willcomplete clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic. You willwork alongside the provider tomake sure our patients are taken care of, and the clinic runs smoothly!

You will be the first point of patient care within the clinic. You will room and prepare patients according to clinic specific checklists or procedures.You will measurepatient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse (manual and automatic), blood pressure (manual and automatic), and other patient care which can vary based on clinic.

You will completerequired patient care documentation including Medical Histories, referral requests, etc.

You will assistwith day-to-day operations as required for optimal patient care which can include assisting fellow teammates and providers when necessary.

CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.

NON-CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
• One year (1) relevant experience working in a physician practice or similar healthcare setting in a provider/patient support or Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson healthcare.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.

Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
