Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in exams, diagnostics, and patient care. You will manage patient flow, assist with EKGs, injections, venipuncture, and record vital signs, while ensuring accuracy and HIPAA compliance.

You're expected to maintain medical supplies, coordinate with staff, and deliver compassionate service to patients. A HS diploma and certification within 6 months are required, with BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire; AHA preferred, Red Cross acceptable in PA.
• Experience in physician office or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors and other staff per Jefferson values.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification.
• Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.
• Maintains knowledge of IT systems within established scope of practice.
• Assists physicians with examinations, various diagnostic procedures, and may perform EKG and venipuncture/injections.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
• Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and smooth operations.
