Job summary

Piedmont Urgent Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to support a fast-paced clinical team. You will prepare patients for exams, perform triage and vitals, document histories in our EMR, collect specimens, and assist with injections and basic procedures.

The role emphasizes patient safety and high-quality care. The position offers a 3-day/12-hour shift pattern (8 AM–8 PM), with opportunities for professional growth, certification reimbursement, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 1+ year healthcare experience preferred (urgent care or ER a plus).
• Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures.
• Experience using EMR software, EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
• Triage and take vital signs.
• Document patient history in EMR in a timely manner.
• Collect lab specimens (blood, urine, oral swabs).
• Administer medications and injections (IM, subcutaneous, intradermal).
• Start IVs, place catheters, assist with splinting as needed.
• Perform basic clinical and laboratory procedures.
• Support Occupational Medicine services including drug screening and audiograms.
