Job summary

TexomaCare is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians during exams, document vital signs, and perform venipuncture as directed. You will maintain exam rooms and assist at the front desk as needed.

Requirements include a Medical Assistant certificate or progression toward certification, HS diploma, and CPR. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred to serve a diverse patient base.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification required or must obtain certification within six months.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Medical terminology familiarity required.
• Experience with patient check-in and check-out per clinic protocol.
• Proficiency in basic computer programs and EMR/EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing patients and recording vital signs.
• Assisting physician during examination and treatment.
• Venipuncture and other procedures as directed.
• Prepare treatment rooms and support front desk coverage.
• Documenting in Electronic Medical Records per IPM guidelines.

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties, which include assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviewing patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture, and procedures as directed by the physician within the scope of practice in the State. Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline. Prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. Assists in covering the front desk as required.

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS.
