MainStreet Family Care in North Carolina is seeking a Floating Medical Assistant to support our Erwin and Cameron clinics. You will assist the on-site provider with patient intake, assessments, treatment, and discharge while ensuring smooth clinic flow.

The role requires flexibility to cover multiple sites, with guaranteed 30+ hours per week. Starting pay is $15/hour plus benefits such as health, dental, vision, and more. Experience is helpful but not required; prior medical assisting is a plus.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Prior medical assisting experience or education is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient intake, assessment, and discharge.
• Triage patients promptly per clinic procedures.
• Document vital signs and updates to medical history.
• Perform lab tests per guidelines and provider instructions.
• Manage digital patient records and support paper-to-electronic transitions.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness.
• Administer prescribed medications under supervision.
• Assist with patient examinations and procedures.
• Position patients for X-rays as directed.
• Monitor and assist with inventory as needed.

Floating Medical Assistant – Eastern North Carolina

MainStreet Family Care is expanding, and we’re seeking energetic, fast, and friendly Floating Medical Assistants to work in our clinics in Erwin and Cameron! As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play a key role in delivering top-notch care to our patients. We provide a range of services including urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will assist the on-site provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge. Flexibility is a must!

Responsibilities:

• Our Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Provider(s) in the care of patients to assure optimal delivery of medical care
• Triage patients promptly and in line with clinic procedures to ensure smooth workflow.
• Document vital signs, weight, and any updates to the patient’s medical history prior to each visit.
• Perform lab tests in compliance with clinical guidelines and medical provider instructions.
• Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
• Prepare examination rooms for patient appointments, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
• Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
• Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
• Position patients for x-rays following provider directives.
• Help monitor and manage medical inventory when needed.

Clinic Hours of Operation:

• MainStreet:
• Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• KidsStreet:
• Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m

KidStreet Locations: Montgomery, Pelham, Gainesville, Mobile, Augusta, Tallahassee, Columbus, Valdosta, Savannah, Charlotte, Wake Forest, Greenville, Wilmington, and Winston-Salem.

Schedule:

Floating Medical Assistants are guaranteed 30+ hours per work week, but flexibility for the schedule is a must!

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Prior Medical Assisting experience or education is beneficial, but not required
