MultiCare Health System is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) to join a physician/APP office team. The MA-C will operate under licensed practitioners, performing safe clinical tasks and maintaining strong contact with physicians, nurses, front office and patients.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient care, clerical duties, and adherence to state regulations. A sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants with experience and a two-year commitment.

Formación

• MA-C certification required or preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsabilidades

• Organize patient flow in collaboration with front office staff.
• Interview patients and obtain vital signs.
• Assist patients in preparing for exams or treatments.
• Perform specimen collection, including venipuncture.
• Administer medications in compliance with state regulations and documented competency.
• Relay instructions to patients and families/caregivers.
• Handle sending/receiving patient records and assisting referrals.

Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families/caregivers.

Responsibilities:

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include:
  • Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
  • Interviewing patients
  • Obtaining vital signs
  • Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
  • Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
  • Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
  • Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include:
  • Sending and receiving of patient medical records
  • Facilitating patient referrals
  • Preparing forms for patients

Requirements:

• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Current BLS certification

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.83 - $35.71 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
